Showaddywaddy had more UK hits in the 1970s than any other act…including Abba! From their winning appearance on an edition of ‘New Faces‘, it took just a matter of months until the band released and secured their debut hit, Hey Rock And Roll, which reached #2 in the UK Singles Chart. They‘re about to releasea Greatest Hits vinyl LP collection featuring 16 of the band‘s best-known singles, including nine Top Ten hits and the Million-Selling #1 single, Under The Moon Of Love. Showaddywaddy are recognised as one of the hardest working touring bands in the UK.
Union Gap had hits in the late 60s with songs like Young Girl, Woman Woman, Lady Willpower and more. Still wearing their distinctive American Civil War Union solidiers‘ costumes, the band has gained great success on the 60s circuit playing all the major festivals, theatres, holiday centres throughout the UK and Europe. Their extensive repertoire of classic songs from the 60s and 70s are performed in their own style with their unique concert sound.
The Pacemakers with singer Gerry Marsden were the nearest competitors to The Beatles in the early 60s. Managed by Brian Epstein and produced by George Martin, the band were launched into the record books and will ultimately be remembered for being the first act to reach number one in the UK singles chart with their first three releases – How Do You Do It, I Like It, and the timeless You’ll Never Walk Alone. Now – 50 years on, and The Pacemakers continue to delight audiences, taking them back to an era which arguably was the most popular time in contemporary music.
Brian Poole hit the pop headlines as lead singer of The Tremeloes in the early 60s. They had hits including Twist and Shout, Do You Love Me, Candy Man and more. Brian left the band in 1968 and continued as a solo artist working with many stars of the era including The Troggs, The Searchers, The Merseybeats and more. Today Brian is a popular performer on the 60s music circuit.
