Back to the 60s Cotswolds Party Break

3 days, 8th March, 2020, £179 per person

Entertainment

Union Gap gained worldwide recognition when their first combined release Young Girl hit No.1 in the UK and No.2 in the USA in 1968. After several more hits, in 1971 the band parted company with Gary Puckett. In 1974 Young Girl was re-released in the UK and the new Union Gap was put together to promote the record which was yet again a smash hit. Eventually the band went their separate ways until in 1996 they relaunched the New Union Gap with Tom Harding on bass guitar and lead vocals. They were an instant success on the 60s circuit playing all the major festivals, theatres and holiday centres throughout the UK. The boys have worked extensively to put together a repertoire of classic songs from the 60s to 90s, which they perform either in the original form or in their own unique style – many of which appear on their albums This Time Around, Classics and By Request. The band – now known as Union Gap UK – have also perfected their distinctive concert sound, which make them stand out from the crowd.

Spencer James has been vocalist/lead guitarist with 60s legends The Searchers for 32 years, during which time the workload has been phenomenal, and has included numerous UK and world tours. Spencer’s high-end recording studio (SJO Music) has produced acts such as The Equals, The Searchers, as well as his own albums Tides of Time, Love Remains and Breath In Breath Out, The Age Of Reason and Hope For Me Yet, featuring his own original songs. Spencer is developing his solo recording, writing and playing career as time and Searchers’ schedules permit.

The 1960s was a golden era of music with so many hits. And one of the most memorable was The McCoys interpretation of Hang On Sloopy, which became a monster success, and is still hugely popular today. And it was being there, loving that wonderful time and its songs, which led to four talented British musicians fostering their special memories, preserving them for live audiences to enjoy anew today, keeping alive the McCoys name, with Hang On Sloopy and Spencer Davis’s Keep on Running being just two examples of a superb repertoire from the 60s.

The Moondogs are a young, vibrant 3-piece cover band recreating the sights, sounds and raw energy that defined the 50s and 60s. From the fantastic 50s Rock n Roll sounds of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, to the musical explosion that defined the 60s from bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, The Kinks, Spencer Davis Group et al. This trio will transport you back to those exciting times when music shaped a generation.

Performances will be with cabaret-style dining seated at shared tables of 8-10 guests and set menu – special diets can be catered for with prior notice.
