Hey, Hey, we’re the Monkees! the 60’s sitcom about a struggling young band, was created by TV producers Bob Rafelson & Bert Schneider, inspired by The Beatles film “A Hard Days Night”. The prefab four, as some critics labelled them, were Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones. The Monkees became an instant TV and pop charts success… selling 75 Million Albums and every kind of merchandise you can think of.. in just 2 years. While charts hits like “The last Train to Clarkesville” & “I’m a Believer” quickly created huge demand for the boys to perform live concert tours. The problem was, until then The Monkees music had been recorded by session musicians…and the lads only provided the vocals!! Now, the fictional band wanted to become real…and like Pinocchio became a real boy, they cut the strings! This is the story of the Monkees…..with a young band of talented singers who really can play and a hilarious narrator.
Herman’s Hermits emerged in the Mid-60s music scene alongside The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many more British bands. From their beginning in Manchester on April 1st 1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, 3 major movies and countless television shows and concert tours all over the world. To date they have total record sales of over 75 million. Since the 1971 departure of Peter Noone to pursue a solo career, the group has never stopped. Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business – they still average more than 200 gigs a year. The ‘Golden Oldies’ still make up amost of their show – much to the enjoyment of their fans, who can’t resist singing along to ‘Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter’, ‘Silhouettes’, ‘Dandy’, ‘Henry VIII’ and many others. From the 60s, though the 70s, 80s, 90s and into the 21st century, Herman’s Hermits are still ‘Into Something Good’.
Nancy Ann Lee is best known as “Little Miss Sixties” where she has received rave reviews for being one of the liveliest tributes to the 60s divas including Lulu whose songs make a huge contribution to the show. Remember Shout, Relight My Fire, Teardrops, The Man Who Sold the World, To Sir With Love and more.
Union Gap UK featuring Gary Puckett gained worldwide recognition when their first combined release Young Girl hit No.1 in the UK and No.2 in the USA in 1968. After several more hits, in 1971 the band parted company with Gary Puckett. In 1974 Young Girl was re-released in the UK and the new Union Gap was put together to promote the record which was yet again a smash hit. Eventually the band went their separate ways until in 1996 they relaunched the New Union Gap with Tom Harding on bass guitar and lead vocals. They were an instant success on the 60s circuit playing all the major festivals, theatres and holiday centres throughout the UK. The boys have worked extensively to put together a repertoire of classic songs from the 60s to 90s, which they perform either in the original form or in their own unique style – many of which appear on their albums This Time Around, Classics and By Request. The band – now known as Union Gap UK – have also perfected their distinctive concert sound, which make them stand out from the crowd.
The Lollypops & Moptops Show is a brand new 2-hour production for 2019 featuring The Dreamers, 2017 National Tribute Music Award Winners The Temple Brothers with their Everly Brothers Tribute Act, Buddy Walker with his fabulous recreation of Buddy Holly and all hosted and compered by Alan Mosca. Carrying on the tradition of Freddie Garrity, The Dreamers remain one of the best-known named bands on the 60s music circuit. Changes to personnel over the past 50 years were of course inevitable but one member – Alan Mosca – remains in the band today.
Misha Dawn presents DIAMOND ROSS – a Diana Ross tribute show. Amongst the best you’ll see in the UK, Misha Dawn captures the essence of Diana Ross with her bespoke, diamante gowns, outstanding vocals, and her warm and intimate rapport with audiences.
