Bringing on Back the 60s & 70s BIG Christmas Party at Warner Norton Grange
4 days, 3rd to 6th December 2021, from £309 per person
Vanity Fare formed in 1966 and are best remembered for their million-selling song ‘Hitchin‘ a Ride‘, which became a worldwide hit in 1970. Two more hit singles followed before the end of 1970 – ‘Come Tomorrow‘ and ‘Carolina‘s Coming Home’. In the mid 70s they decided to concentrate on live performances touring Europe, where they were having hit singles. Their highly developed style of melodic close harmonies still wows audiences today. The band is joined by Steve Ellis, who first began with the Soul Survivors, later Love Affair. Steve Ellis was acknowledged as one of the best soul-rock singers in the business and this epithet continues today.
Carrying on the tradition of the guys who started it all in 1963 – Freddie and The Dreamers – The Dreamers remain one of the best known named bands on the 60s music circuit. Changes to personnel over the past 50 years were inevitable but one member, Alan Mosca, remains in the band today. Alan was alongside Freddie as part of the British Invasion Tour of America, sharing the stage with Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Searchers and others. Alan is joined by The Temple Brothers, Steve and Colin, who have toured extensively with their Everly Brothers tribute show and Midnight Dynamos rock and roll band. Newest member Nicky Walker also a seasoned professional who toured the UK and Abroad as a session musician and his own unique Buddy Holly tribute show. With their unique harmonies and musicianship they add an extra dimension to the Dreamers, who along with the hits of Freddie and The Dreamers perform the most popular songs of the fifties rock and roll days and the great songs of the sixties.
Dave Berry is best-remembered for hits such as ‘Memphis, Tennessee‘, ‘The Crying Game and ‘Little Things‘. Together with his backing band The Cruisers they continued recording and touring throughout the 70s and 80s. Known for his expressive voice Dave Berry has remained fresh and dynamic in front of the pulsating back-beat of The Cruisers.
Spencer James has been vocalist/lead guitarist with 60s legends The Searchers for 32 years, during which time the workload has been phenomenal, and has included numerous UK and world tours. Spencer’s high-end recording studio (SJO Music) has produced acts such as The Equals, The Searchers, as well as his own albums Tides of Time, Love Remains and Breath In Breath Out, The Age Of Reason and Hope For Me Yet, featuring his own original songs. Spencer is developing his solo recording, writing and playing career as time and Searchers’ schedules permit.
Cherie Jade brings her amazing tribute Diana Ross and Ladies of Soul to our party. Songs include Stop In the Name of Love. Aint No Mountain High Enough, Baby Love, Chain Reaction and many more soulful hits from the 70s diva, Diana Ross. Cherie performs a truly dazzling show guaranteed to have your guests dancing the night away.
Chris Nott is well known on the 70s music circuit as the best David Essex tribute, which began in 1999 on the TV show ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ to an audience of 10 million viewers. His tribute is a total lookalike and soundalike of the legendary 70s sex symbol.
Tank Sherman has risen to fame in the comedy business and is one of the most well known, well loved and well respected comics in the UK. His comedy career began after he entered a talent contest while on holiday in Weymouth – which he won. By now he had the bug and he knew that making people smile and laugh was his chosen career. Tank has worked alongside Jethro, both live, on TV and on 5 DVDs, won an ITV Talent Contest, performed on TV and SKY TV. He has headlined shows at The Babbacombe Theatre and done Panto with Jimmy Osmond. Not being afraid of a bit of travelling, Tank regularly takes to the skies and the Seven Seas, doing flybacks and cruises across the globe. One of Tank’s pet hates are acts that think a joke or a funny story needs a swear word and foul language to make it funnier. It doesn’t. End of.
