Crystals & Christmas in Bavaria & Austria

5 days by Air, 2nd December 2019, from £769 per person


Day 1: UK to Munich
Join at your chosen airport for the flight to Munich (flight time around 2 hours). On arrival transfer to the 4 star Maritim Hotel. The rest of the day will be leisure with time to visit the Christmas Market (flight time permitting), open daily from 10am – 9pm.

Day 2: Munich to Seefeld
This morning we have a guided walking tour of central Munich with time at leisure. This afternoon we travel by coach through scenic Bavarian and Austrian countryside to Seefeld in Tyrol which jointly with Innsbruck hosted two winter olympics (journey around 1 hour and 40 minutes). Check into the chic, 3-star family run Hayman Hotel in the heart of the town. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Innsbruck & Swarovski Winter Wonderland
This morning we travel the short distance by coach to Innsbruck, the Capital of the Tyrol, located in a valley between the mountains with stunning views all around, traditional architecture and a rich history. We have a guided tour and time to enjoy the Christmas Market which opens at 11am. Mid-afternoon we continue the short distance to Swarovski Crystal Worlds which opened in 1995 to mark the centennial anniversary of the company’s founding. Enjoy this stunning park with amazing crystal sculptures, crystal chambers, a shop and restaurant. Return to Seefeld early evening. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Seefeld
Today is at leisure in Seefeld. Alternatively, join our optional £55pp day excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle with a guided tour plus a visit to Oberammergau, famed for its Passion Play – Note: castle access is via some steep slopes and steps.

Day 5: Seefeld to Munich to UK
Check out of the hotel after breakfast and transfer by coach to Munich airport for return flight to the UK.

Maritim Hotel, Munich 

The Maritim Hotel Munich is located near the main station and town centre. All rooms have been freshly renovated and include private bathroom, balcony, radio, telephone, flatscreen cable-TV, hair dryer and safe. The hotel has a Panorama roof top indoor pool and a sauna. There is a restaurant, bar and piano bar. Breakfasts are buffet style.

Hotel Haymon, Seefeld  

Rated 5 stars on trip advisor, this hotel comes highly recommended. The Haymon is a 3 star family run hotel at the beginning of Seefeld’s pedestrian area, near the town centre. Well furnished rooms in Tyrolean style, the international kitchen, and cosy chimney bar are all warm and welcoming. All rooms have private bathroom, balcony, radio, telephone, flatscreen cable-TV, hair dryer and a safe. The hotel offers free wifi, a sauna that is free to use for its guests and you will also be provided with a free pass for the regional buses in the Olympia region. Breakfasts are buffet style and dinners are 4 courses with a choice of main course.
