Elba, Portofino & Treasures of Tuscany

Day 1: Rail – UK to Turin
Check-in at St Pancras or Ebbsfleet for an early morning departure to Paris. In Paris we transfer to the Gare de Lyon station and join our TGV train to Turin where we spend our first night.
Day 2: Rail – Turin to Elba
Air – UK to Elba (Day 1)
Morning transfer to the station where we join the fast train to Pisa. Alternatively check in at your chosen Airport for the direct flight to Pisa. On arrival we transfer by coach to Piombino for our crossing to Elba where we check into out hotel for two nights. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 3: Elba
Best known as Napoleons place of exile in 1814-15, Elba is Italy’s third largest Island, rich in both history and nature, a popular destination for Italians in the summer months due to its stunning beaches and picturesque towns. Today we have a full tour of the island taking in the highlights. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 4: Elba – Pietrasanta
This morning we have some free time on the island before transferring by catch to the ferry and onward journey to Marina de Pietrasanta where we check into our hotel. Dinner and free drinks in the hotel.
Day 5: Cinque Terre
Today we travel by coach to La Spezia train station where we board the train for the picturesque coastal journey to the higgledy piggledy towns that make up UNESCO and world famous Cinque Terre. We are free to visit the towns during the course of the day (Please note that it is not possible to visit all 5 towns in one day). We return to the hotel by coach during the afternoon. Dinner and free drinks in the hotel.
Day 6: Pisa & Lucca
Today we visit the nearby city of Pisa famous for its leaning tour and Piazza dei Miracoli (square of miracles) and the Renaissance city of Lucca with time to enjoy wandering around the enchanted cobbled streets or sit in one of the famous Piazzas. Dinner and free drinks at the hotel.
Day 7: Portofino
After an early breakfast we will travel by coach to Santa Margherita where we join the ferry to Portofino. The approach to Portofino by boat is spectacular with coastal views not available by other transport. We return to the hotel late afternoon. Dinner and free drinks at the hotel.
Day 8: Florence
Today we travel by coach to Florence where you will have a walking tour of the main sights of the city. You will then be free to explore on your own and visit some of the remarkable museums and palaces. Dinner and free drinks at the hotel.
Day 9: Rail – Pietrasanta to Turin
Air – Pisa to UK (Day 8)
This morning we depart the hotel after breakfast and travel by coach to Pisa to join the flight or train home. The train will arrive in Turin early evening. Here we check into our hotel. Evening at leisure
Day 10: Rail – Turin or to UK
Morning train from Turin to Paris Gare de Lyon Station and transfer to Gare du Nord station to take the Eurostar to London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet.

Hotel Fabricia, Portoferraio, Elba

Situated in the heart of Pietrasanta di Marina, just a short walk from the beach and a quick taxi ride to the old town of Pietrasanta more inland. The hotel has a rooftop swimming pool and jacuzzi (opened from June to September). All rooms are ensuite with air-conditioning, telephone, TV , hairdryer, safe and minibar.
