4* Gardens of North Devon

6 days, 3rd May & 14 June, 2020, £799 per person

Itinerary

ITINERARY

Day 1: Make your own way to Barnstable. Settle in to your hotel and relax before dinner.

Day 2: Today we will visit RHS Rosemoor and Ilfracombe, the leading seaside resort in North Devon. Sitting snugly among the rugged cliffs of the Atlantic Coast, it has a charming natural harbour surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars.

Day 3: Today’s full-day excursion will take us to Lynton & Lynmouth – where Exmoor meets the sea. Sitting one on top of the hill and one at the mouth of the river estuary below these picture postcard villages are linked by The Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest fully water powered railway in the country. We continue from there to Marwood Hill Garden.

Day 4: This morning we will visit Hartland Abbey and Gardens. We will spend the afternoon across the Cornish border in the seaside resort of Bude. A triple winner in the British Travel Awards for best UK Coastal Town/ Resort, Bude is famous for its pastel painted Beach Huts and it has a laid back allure all of its own.

Day 5: Today’s excursion will take us to Clovelly. It is a beautiful picturesque fishing village, steeped in maritime atmosphere and history and was once owned by the Queen of England. Its flower-strewn cottages “tumble like a waterfall” down a cleft in the cliff to the ancient working port. There will be time to visit Clovelly Court Gardens.

Day 6: Check out of the hotel after breakfast .

Please note: The nature of this tour involves a lot of walking. It is therefore not considered suitable for users of wheelchairs, mobility scooters or people with restricted mobility.
