Luxury 4* Cotswolds, Highgrove Royal Gardens & Steam

4 days, 21st September 2019, from £429 per person

Itinerary

Day 1: Make your own way to the hotel. Check-in from 3pm. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you choose. Take a dip in the pool, relax in the jacuzzi or take a wander around the grounds before dinner.

Day 2: You will be collected by coach after breakfast for a scenic tour through the Cotswolds. There will be free time in Bourton on the Water & Broadway.
Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton on the Water is affectionally known as the Venice of the Cotswolds. With plenty to see and do, it offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, or simply for you to enjoy some tranquil time by the River Windrush with its beautiful bridges throughout.
The beautiful and historic Cotswold village of Broadway is a memorable place to visit. The pretty High Street is lined with horse chestnut trees and includes a mixture of period houses and picturesque honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages which have lured visitors for centuries.
Mid-afternoon we will take a step back in time as we take our seats on board the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway. View the stunning Cotswold scenery from a different angle as we steam our way down from Broadway to Cheltenham Race Course where our coach will be waiting to take us back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3: You will be collected mid-morning by coach for the short drive to Highgrove. On arrival you will enjoy a Carrot & Rosemary Soup and Sandwich lunch (choice of Highgrove Hen Egg, Mayonnaise and Rocket, Ham Hock and Highgrove Piccalilli or Coronation Chicken with Coriander and Mango Chutney) followed by Lemon Posset with fresh berries and shortbread or Seasonal Fruit Crumble with double cream. After lunch you’ll take a tour of the private gardens of their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, led by one of the Prince’s garden guides. The tour takes about 2 hours and involves a walk of about 2 miles. At the end of the tour there will be time to visit the shop before the coach will pick you up and return you to the hotel for dinner and our last night’s stay.
