Herman’s Hermits emerged in the Mid-60s music scene alongside The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many more British bands. From their beginning in Manchester on April 1st 1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, 3 major movies and countless television shows and concert tours all over the world. To date they have total record sales of over 75 million. Since the 1971 departure of Peter Noone to pursue a solo career, the group has never stopped. Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business – they still average more than 200 gigs a year. The ‘Golden Oldies’ still make up amost of their show – much to the enjoyment of their fans, who can’t resist singing along to ‘Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter’, ‘Silhouettes’, ‘Dandy’, ‘Henry VIII’ and many others. From the 60s, though the 70s, 80s, 90s and into the 21st century, Herman’s Hermits are still ‘Into Something Good’.
Originally created in 1969, Brotherhood of Man it was not until 1973 that they formed a definite four-member line-up consisting of Martin Lee, Lee Sheriden, Nicky Stevens and Sandra Stevens. They went on to score many hits around the world in the mid to late 1970s including Kiss Me Kiss Your Baby, Angelo, Oh Boy (The Mood I’m In) and Figaro. They achieved their biggest success when they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 with Save Your Kisses For Me and they also had three number-one singles and four top-twenty albums in the 70s. The group still continues performing with the same original line-up. Altogether, they have released 16 studio albums, with worldwide sales topping 15 million records.
Since originally forming as the Four Jays in 1959, The Fourmost have remained continuously active on the UK and European 60s music scene. While the band’s formation has changed over the years, the look and sound of the band has remained authentic and true to its heritage, contributing to its success and longevity. The Fourmost has its roots steeped in the eclectic 1960s Merseybeat boom and was part of the Brian Epstein stable along with The Beatles, Billy J Kramer, Gerry and The Pacemakers and others. The band has evolved from enjoying 1960s chart hits such as Hello Little Girl and A Little Loving and lesser hits like Baby I Need Your Lovin, Here There and Everywhere and a cover of George Formby’s Auntie Maggie’s Remedy. The Fourmost are one of the most authentic 1960s bands currently on the circuit today, from their Vox amps, Rickenbacker guitars and Ludwig drums down to their Italian made slim fitted suits and Cuban heel boots. The Fourmost are: Kevin Clarkson – drums/vocals, Lee Clarkson – bass/vocals, Alex Leyland – rhythm guitar/vocals and Adrian Fountain – lead guitar.vocals.
