Entertainment

Herman’s Hermits emerged in the Mid-60s music scene alongside The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many more British bands. From their beginning in Manchester on April 1st 1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, 3 major movies and countless television shows and concert tours all over the world. To date they have total record sales of over 75 million. Since the 1971 departure of Peter Noone to pursue a solo career, the group has never stopped. Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business – they still average more than 200 gigs a year. The ‘Golden Oldies’ still make up amost of their show – much to the enjoyment of their fans, who can’t resist singing along to ‘Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter’, ‘Silhouettes’, ‘Dandy’, ‘Henry VIII’ and many others. From the 60s, though the 70s, 80s, 90s and into the 21st century, Herman’s Hermits are still ‘Into Something Good’.

Showaddywaddy had more UK hits in the 1970s than any other act – including Abba! From their winning appearance on an edition of New Faces, the Britain’s Got Talent of the day, to become runners-up in the series’ All Winners Final, it took just a matter of months until the band released and secured their debut hit, Hey Rock And Roll, which reached No2 in the UK Singles Chart. Now there’s a Greatest Hits vinyl LP collection, features 16 of the band’s best-known singles, including nine Top Ten hits and the Million-Selling No1 single, Under The Moon Of Love. Showaddywaddy are recognised as one of the hardest working touring bands in the UK.

The Legendaries – Les McKeowns former touring band – Remaining band members Phil Hendriks, Darren Lee, Scott McGowan, Nick Gornall and Alex Southgate have regrouped to play all the hits and more, Remembering the hits such as ‘Shang-A-Lang’ Give A Little Love, I Only Want To Be With You, Summer Love Sensation and of course Bye Bye Baby.

Philip Wright’s Paper Lace – The Original 70s PAPER LACE started in 1967, the two founder members Phil Wright (Lead Vocalist & Drummer) Cliff Fish (Vocalist & Bass Player) are still in the band and continue to perform today, together with Phil Hendriks (Vocalist & Guitar) and Dave Major (Vocalist & Keyboards) Phil & Cliff sang and played on Paper Lace’s big hits in the 1970’s, you will remember ‘Billy Don’t Be A Hero’,No.1 in the UK March 1974, or ‘The Night Chicago Died’ No.1 in the United States in 1974, take a look at the discography page for a fuller picture of their success.

CARNABY STREET have been wowing crowds on the South West and UK’s gig scene for nigh on 21years now…..and for anyone who’s been to one of their gigs, it’s not difficult to see why! The hugely popular ‘Swingin’ Sixties Tribute Band’ have the sort of enthusiastic, infectious energy you don’t see with many bands these days. It’s as if every gig is their first! Lead by the dulcet tones of charismatic crooner & frontman Dez, their repertoire ranges from classic songs from the early 60’s ‘Beat Group’ era, through to the deliriously groovy ‘Flower Power’ hits from later in the decade. Hit After hit! After hit , Fab!

Jeff Brown is a musician with many years’ experience. He has played alongside a plethora of Rock Icons including Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake) and John Coghlan (Status Quo) to name but a few. Jeff also joined Glam Rock band, Sweet alongside Mick Tucker and Andy Scott as bass player, ultimately stepping into the frontline and taking over lead vocals coupled with playing bass. He was in Sweet for 16 years and helped them to achieve a very successful comeback releasing two studio albums of new material and two greatest hits compilations, re-recorded with Jeff on vocal. He also toured extensively around the world with Sweet, keeping the Glam Rock vibe alive. Jeff has decided it is now time to show the world what he is made of as a solo artist presenting his album of time honoured rock with a contemporary edge, it is sure to be a huge hit amongst rock fans of all ages.

Nancy Ann Lee is best known as “Little Miss Sixties” where she has received rave reviews for being one of the liveliest tributes to the 60s divas including Lulu whose songs make a huge contribution to the show. Remember Shout, Relight My Fire, Teardrops, The Man Who Sold the World, To Sir With Love and more.
