The BIG 60s to Soul & Motown Spring Festival at Warner Alvaston Hall

4 days, 23rd to 26th April 2021, from £399 per person

Marty Wilde is an enduring rock ‘n’ roll legend as popular now as ever. Marty’s career took off after he was ‘discovered’ singing in a Soho club by impressario Larry Parnes. His big breakthrough came with the release of “Endless Sleep“, which entered the UK charts in June 1958, reaching number 4 and staying for 14 weeks. His follow-up was “Donna“, Written by Ritchie Valens, which went one better, peaking at number 3 early in 1959 and staying in the top 50 for four months. Marty’s chart progress continued with “ Teenager in Love“ which reached number two in the UK. The hits then followed one after another with “Sea of Love“, “Bad Boy”, “Jezebel” and many more. When music shows like ‘Oh Boy‘ appeared on British TV, Marty became a smash hit. He has continued touring with his band, The Wildcats, and still plays to packed audiences to this day. A true Britsh Rock and Roll icon.

Memories of the Four Tops are the ultimate Soul and Motown group who present a stunning floor show of an extensive repertoire of hits from the legendary Four Tops. Featuring outstanding vocal harmonies and pulsating choreography, the group also perform a unique blend of classic R’n’B, Stax, Motown and Soul including classic hits from the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Drifters and more. This classy act have been wowing audiences all over the UK and Internationally with their energetic and evocative performance that guarantees a fantastic evening of music.

New Amen Corner have emerged in the last couple of years as arguably the hottest band on the 60s circuit with an unrivalled ability to perfectly recreate the sound and atmosphere of that momentous period 50 years ago when music sent good vibrations across the world. The original Amen Corner was a big influence on the 60s pop scene, creating their own unique brand of music, a mixture of mod, psychedelic power pop, heavy horns, swirling Hammond organ and distinctive voice of Andy Fairweather-Low. Their power house live show made them one of the most exciting bands around. With million seller hits like Gin House, Bend Me Shape Me, If Paradise was half as Nice, High in the Sky, & Hello Suzie they became a household name in the late 60s. The New Amen Corner has a musical pedigree second to none with band members who have played with the likes of Screaming Lord Sutch, The Symbols, Jeff Beck, Alexis Korner, Roy Wood, Robert Plant, Alvin Stardust, Ruby Turner, Mike Oldfield and Jaki Graham to name but a few. Their Bringing on Back the 60s show is a veritable discography of the era.

The Lollypops & Moptops Show is a brand new 2-hour production for 2019 featuring The Dreamers, 2017 National Tribute Music Award Winners The Temple Brothers with their Everly Brothers Tribute Act, Buddy Walker with his fabulous recreation of Buddy Holly and all hosted and compered by Alan Mosca. Carrying on the tradition of Freddie Garrity, The Dreamers remain one of the best-known named bands on the 60s music circuit. Changes to personnel over the past 50 years were of course inevitable but one member – Alan Mosca – remains in the band today.

Hayley Christian’s Celebration of Whitney tribute show features all the late divas most powerful hits. Featuring the songs, Saving All My Love For You, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment in Time, Million Dollar Bill and of the course the Grammy award winning song I Will Always Love You. This show is truly a celebration of the life and music of Whitney Houston.

Nancy Ann Lee is best know as “Little Miss Sixties” where she has received rave reviews for being one of the liveliest tributes to the 60s divas including Lulu whose songs make a huge contribution to the show. Remember Shout, Relight My Fire, Teardrops, The Man Who Sold the World, To Sir With Love and more.

The music of Luther Vandross has had huge impact on a whole generation. Steve Williamson – as Simply Luther – doesn’t just mimic Luther; he plays tribute to a legend who left us far too early. His voice will leave you tingling and spellbound. His amazing live band adds the right level of drive to impeccably match Steve’s vocals.

Stevie One is Nat Augustin’s latest creation of a fantastic authentic show presenting a powerful, uplifting tribute to the iconic Stevie Wonder. The show ranges from the gentle reflective sing-along moments to the more uptempo funk classics from the 60s to 90s. Having worked as Musical Director for Alexander O’Neal, Tavares and Gwen McCrae, Nat is a hugely experienced and versatile musician. Nat plays keyboards, guitar and trombone no less!

Multi-talented multi-instrumentalist Glen Leon has played the guitar from the age of nine with his vocal talents emerging shortly after. He became a professional musician at the age of 16. For the last 15 Years Glen has performed with The Soul Survivors and the 60s band New Amen Corner, who are going from strength to strength appearing at home and abroad in theatres everywhere. This weekend Glen performs solo as the voice of Tom Jones act where his vocal range truly evokes the Welsh legend.
