The BIG 60s to Soul & Motown Christmas Festival at Warner Nidd Hall

Marty Wilde is an enduring rock ‘n’ roll legend as popular now as ever. Marty’s career took off after he was ‘discovered’ singing in a Soho club by impressario Larry Parnes. His big breakthrough came with the release of “Endless Sleep“, which entered the UK charts in June 1958, reaching number 4 and staying for 14 weeks. His follow-up was “Donna“, Written by Ritchie Valens, which went one better, peaking at number 3 early in 1959 and staying in the top 50 for four months. Marty’s chart progress continued with “ Teenager in Love“ which reached number two in the UK. The hits then followed one after another with “Sea of Love“, “Bad Boy”, “Jezebel” and many more. When music shows like ‘Oh Boy‘ appeared on British TV, Marty became a smash hit. He has continued touring with his band, The Wildcats, and still plays to packed audiences to this day. A true Britsh Rock and Roll icon.
New Amen Corner have emerged in the last couple of years as arguably the hottest band on the 60s circuit with an unrivalled ability to perfectly recreate the sound and atmosphere of that momentous period 50 years ago when music sent good vibrations across the world. The original Amen Corner was a big influence on the 60s pop scene, creating their own unique brand of music, a mixture of mod, psychedelic power pop, heavy horns, swirling Hammond organ and distinctive voice of Andy Fairweather-Low. Their power house live show made them one of the most exciting bands around. With million seller hits like Gin House, Bend Me Shape Me, If Paradise was half as Nice, High in the Sky, & Hello Suzie they became a household name in the late 60s. The New Amen Corner has a musical pedigree second to none with band members who have played with the likes of Screaming Lord Sutch, The Symbols, Jeff Beck, Alexis Korner, Roy Wood, Robert Plant, Alvin Stardust, Ruby Turner, Mike Oldfield and Jaki Graham to name but a few. Their Bringing on Back the 60s show is a veritable discography of the era.
The Lollypops & Moptops Show is a brand new 2-hour production for 2019 featuring The Dreamers, 2017 National Tribute Music Award Winners The Temple Brothers with their Everly Brothers Tribute Act, Buddy Walker with his fabulous recreation of Buddy Holly and all hosted and compered by Alan Mosca. Carrying on the tradition of Freddie Garrity, The Dreamers remain one of the best-known named bands on the 60s music circuit. Changes to personnel over the past 50 years were of course inevitable but one member – Alan Mosca – remains in the band today.
Nancy Ann Lee & Eddie Allen’s Country Show Nancy Ann Lee is best know as “Little Miss Sixties” where she has received rave reviews for being one of the liveliest tributes to the 60s divas. On this break Nancy has teamed up with Eddie Allen, guitarist for Marty Wilde in the Wildcats, bringing you the latest in country music hits with a few of the classics thrown in along with her own Chart Topping self penned songs.

Her distinctive voice has enabled her to sing and work along side a whole host of the UK’s top entertainers. Buzz D’Angelo is currently the only tribute artist in Europe celebrating the life and music of the Godfather of soul James Brown. Performing shows all over the world with his own Georgia All Star Band as well as many other world class musicians and Orchestras.With the moves and all the showmanship of this great American music icon, Buzz D’Angelo performs the hits including Sex Machine, I Feel Good, Living In America and many more.
Maxine Mazumder as Dusty Springfield Maxine was a grand finalist in 1997’s Star’s In Their Eyes, has played the lead role in the West End Production of ‘the Roy Orbison Story, playing the part of Dusty Springfield and has appeared on ‘New faces’. Maxine is the most sought-after tribute to Dusty due to her attention to detail, incredible voice and unmistakable Dusty mannerisms which have earned her the title of the UK’s Number One tribute to Dusty from the National Tribute Awards.
Multi-talented multi-instrumentalist Keith Slater has created a superb show celebrating Frank Sinatra. His one-man show perfectly evokes ‘Ol Blue Eyes’ and is virtually a time-travelling experience. Keith has been a professional musician since 1981 and has toured extensively around the British Isles. He has recorded with well known bands such as 60’s group Mike Sheridan and the Nightriders, the nationally acclaimed folk act The Fastest Bat and Lancashire comedian Phil Cool. He has appeared on national TV shows Pebble Mill at One, The Tom O’Connor show, The Barmaids Arms and The Phil Cool Show. His music has been played on Radio one, Radio two and Local radio. He regularly works with well known artistes Carl Chinn (Birmingham historian), Malcolm Stent, Don Maclean and award winning bands Inheritance and Vivo where he sings, plays guitar, drums, violin and harmonica (obviously not all at the same time).
Christopher Gee’s career took off after he appeared on BBC TVs Opportunity Knocks ad it is now as varied as the 100+ voices he performs in his unique one man show. He has performed with some of the top names in show business all over the UK and abroad. Performing as a solo artist and also principal comedian in touring shows has given Christopher Gee the experience to work to different audiences. With his unique blend of topical, original, quality and non-offensive comedy material and his uncanny ability to impersonate, means that his act is suitable for most occasions. Why hire one performer when you can have hundreds.
