Day 1: UK to Lake Bled
Join at your chosen airport for the flight to Ljubljana or Venice – flight duration around 2 hours. Transfer to the Hotel Jelovica in Bled. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Lake Bohinj & Bled
This morning we travel to Lake Bohinj where it may be possible to take the cable car up to the summit of Mount Vogel (payable locally). This afternoon we visit famous Bled castle where you will be enchanted by the dramatic views of the Lake and the history of the building. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Bohinj Railway & Julian Alps
This morning transfer by coach to Bled Station and embark on a wonderful 90 minute journey south through the Julian Alps and alongside the stunning blue waters of the Soca River Valley, before arriving at the Italian border town of Nova Gorica. Rejoin the coach for an afternoon scenic drive through the mountains starting at the town of Bovec surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps, continue across the border into Italy following our scenic mountain route through the popular resorts of Trbiz, Tarvisio. Arriving back into Slovenia we stop at Kranjska Gora a popular ski resort in the winter and in the summer popular for locals and tourist for its stunning views over the Triglav National Park. From here we return to Bled. Dinner in the hotel
Day 4: Bled
Today is free in Bled. You may like to visit the arts and crafts fair taking place on the promenade. Dinner in the hotel. Afterwards we stroll to the lakeside for the Candles on the Lake, part of the Lights on the Lake Festival.
Day 5: Ljubljana
Today we travel by coach to Ljubljana Slovenia’s dynamic capital city, which has retained a relaxed small-town atmosphere. This picturesque and very vibrant city is full of surprises. Return to Bled mid-afternoon. Dinner in the hotel.
Day 6: Return to UK
Check-out of the hotel after breakfast. Transfer to the airport for the flight home.
